The x16 Gen 2 features Universal Audio’s latest generation of A/D and D/A converters for the widest dynamic range and lowest distortion of any Apollo interface. Powered by HEXA Core Processing, the x16 Gen 2 provides DSP for running hundreds of UAD plug-ins like the LA-2A and 1176 compressors, Pultec EQs and channel strips from API, Neve and SSL. UA’s plug-in bundle gives you a generous suite of emulations right out of the box so you can build your mixes with the sound of analog gear to record iconic albums.

Immersive Monitoring

The x16 Gen 2’s Apollo Monitor Correction, powered by Sonarworks, provides speaker calibration for accurate listening in any room. You’ll hear how your mixes will translate on different systems with no surprises. The x16 Gen 2 also supports mixing in 3D formats up to 9.1.6 for creating immersive Dolby Atmos, Auro and Sony 360 mixes. With flexible routing and control of your monitors, talkback and plug-in processing in the UAD Console app, you’ll find a workflow tailored to your needs.

Hybrid Workflows

The x16 Gen 2 combines onboard HEXA DSP with your computer’s native processing for a powerhouse system able to handle large sessions with complex plug-in chains. You get low latency performance for tracking and mixing in your DAW of choice like Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase or LUNA. The x16 Gen 2 is also expandable, linking up to four units for 64 channels of A/D and D/A conversion. For plug-in control and monitoring, use the desktop Apollo Twin or x4 in your studio.
